Richard Joseph Rust was born on February 5, 1965, to Theodore and Elizabeth (Van de Laar) Rust. He loved his hometown of Simcoe, Ontario, Canada where he was born and raised, became saved, and trained for the ministry. He was a beloved pastor, church planter, and brother in Christ. He married the love of his life, Tamara, on June 25, 1988, they spent 34 wonderful and blessed years together. Rick loved serving the Lord whether it was pastoring, encouraging others or planting churches. He loved his family so much and his grandchildren were his pride and joy.
Rick is survived by his wife; Tamara, his children; Nathanael R. Rust, Alaina M. (Ronald) Kauffman and Amy G. (Malcolm "Alex") Southern, his grandchildren; Landon, McKenna, and Maverick Kauffman, Ezra and Briley Southern, his brothers; John (Gail) Rust and Ted Rust, his sisters; Helen (Al) Fraser and Maryanne Heath, his father and mother-in-law; Roland (Brenda) Charbonneau, his brother-in-law; Michael (Sandi) Charbonneau, his sister-in-law; Debbie (Chris) Unger and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends who's lives he touched. He was preceded in death by his parents; Theo and Elizabeth Rust.
Although we rejoice that he is in Heaven, we will miss his infectious laugh, outgoing personality, and his heart for people. Rick dedicated his life to the cause of Christ, impacting so many lives. He would want everyone to continue serving the Lord with all their heart.
