Jerry Lee VanDeusen Sr. left this world peacefully on August 15, 2025, at the age of 80 at the Laurels of Fulton

nursing home.

Jerry was born August 28, 1944. He is the son of Lewis and Dorothy VanDeusen. He grew up in Ovid, Michigan, where he developed a strong work ethic and deep love for his family. He went on to pursue a career as a custodian for Ovid Elsie School District for many years. He also had a passion in life as a meat cutter at Sheldon's Packing House for several years, as well as

working for the Ovid Elsie Animal Clinic doing maintenance and custodial work.

Jerry is survived by his son, Jerry Lee VanDeusen Jr. (Melinda VanDeusen); two grandchildren, Jacob and Jordan VanDeusen; and great-granddaughter, Everleigh VanDeusen.

Out of 9 siblings, he is survived by Pat Leland of Owosso, Michigan, Linda Bona of Webster, New York and Jack VanDeusen of Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Jerry is preceded in death both his parents, Lewis and Dorothy VanDeusen; five of his siblings, Doug VanDeusen, Richard VanDeusen, Bill VanDeusen, Calvin VanDeusen, and Larry VanDeusen, as well as his special friend Mary A. Hehrer and sister-in-law, Joyce VanDeusen.

The family is being served by Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Jennings-Lyons Chapel.
