Mr. Richard Clyde Sandifer, age 74, of Winnfield, LA, passed away October 5, 2025, at Natchitoches Community Care Center following a lengthy illness.

Mr. Sandifer was born to Hershel and Carmer Sandifer, November 9, 1950, in Winnfield, LA and remained here for most of his life. He was employed by the Louisiana Highway Department for many years, followed by a long time of self-employment. In his spare time, fishing and hunting were his favorite pastimes.

He was preceded in death by his parents Hershel and Carmer Sandifer.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sister, Margaret Sandifer Lang and husband, Philip; 2 nephews: Philip Dale Lang (wife Amy), of Calvin, LA, and John David Lang & Melanie of Yazoo City, MS; 2 great nephews and 1 great niece.

Services for Mr. Sandifer will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 9, at Sardis Baptist Church with Rev. Norris Curry and Rev. Mitchell Miles officiating. Interment will follow at Brown Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home.

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, October 8, from 5 - 7 p.m. at Southern Funeral Home and Thursday, at the church, from 1:00 until service time at 2:00.

Those serving as pallbearers are Philip Lang, Jr., Timothy Lang, David Lang, Brian Sanders, Gerry Lummus, and Joe Price. Honorary pallbearers are Philip Lang, Sr. and Tim McCarty.
