Joseph C. Sandifer, 87 of Wall, passed peacefully at Sunnyside Manor Assisted Living, surrounded by his loving family. Joe was born and raised in Manasquan, NJ. He was a graduate of Manasquan High School and received two degrees from Rutgers University, one for Industrial Arts and the other a master's degree in Education. Joe taught Industrial Arts at Neptune High School for 36 years. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed tinkering around the house and working on cars.
Joe was predeceased by his parents Herbert and Marjorie Sandifer. He is survived by his devoted wife Elizabeth (nee Birch) Sandifer, of Wall, his children Jeanette (Douglas) Elman of Freehold, and Susan (Mark) Opalewski of Branchburg. Joe was the cherished grandfather to Lauren and Samantha. He also leaves behind a brother Herbert (Kathie) Sandifer, of PA, Ada (Richard) Chapman of Wall, NJ, and Mary (James) Irving, of VA., as well as many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Saturday, February 18, 2023, from 1 pm to 4 pm at Orender Family Home for Funerals, 2643 Old Bridge Road, Manasquan, NJ 08736, with a funeral service to begin at 2 pm. In Joe's giving and compassionate spirit memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice in lieu of flowers. To send condolences to the family please visit www.orenderfamilyhome.net.
