Richard Anthony Scott was born on Friday, January 3, 1964 at the Chester County Hospital to Henry C. Hallager, III and Katie Boden. Within three days of his birth, he was adopted to the late Elder James E. Scott and the late Mother Lovetta Scott. They lived in West Chester, PA. Richard attended the West Chester School District. During his school years, the Scott's moved to Downingtown, PA. They lived at the Meadowlake Apartments.
Richard attended and graduated from Coatesville Area School District in June 1982. There he was active in sports. Richard loved to play basketball. He was well-known in Chester County because of his playing basketball and track and field. Richard loved his school's basketball team, Coatesville Summer league, and was a devoted Los Angeles Lakers Fan. Richard was accepted at the University of Maryland to play basketball. Richard was unable to attend due to funds.
Richard was a self-taught organist and keyboard player. He began his training at Holy Tabernacle COGIC in Coatesville, PA under his father the late Elder James E. Scott. Richard's playing enhanced when he played for Malachi Ministries under his cousin, Reverend Martin Palmer. Richard was known for being an outstanding organist, his crazy playing techniques and his facial expressions. Richard played for numerous churches in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. Richard would not miss a Sunday to play unless his wife, Daphne, told him to take a vacation.
Richard worked for GRG Technologies Fiberglass Company in Newtown Square, PA for 25 years as the truck driver. Richard would drive as far west as Ohio, as far north as New Hampshire, and as far south as Virginia. He loved driving the work truck and working at the plant with his coworkers. Richard would leave from one to two o'clock in the morning to beat the traffic and be on time at the designated stops.
Richard leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted and faithful wife, Daphne of 28 years of marriage. Together, they had two daughters, Natasha and Vanessa. His oldest Daughter, Rashonda Yvette Gbadomos Scott and a son Jonathan Baxter, four grandchildren, Zavion, Zynae, ZaKai, and Zyyen, and dogson, Chase, three sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous friends.
