Richard Dennis Senechal, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2023, in Windham Center, CT. Born on October 8, 1958, in Windham, CT, Rich lived a life full of adventure, love, and kindness.
He went by many names: Pepere, Coach, Dad, Skippy, Richie, The Big Kahuna and Rocket.
Rich was a devoted family man, survived by his loving wife, Michele Senechal, and his cherished daughters, Brooke Senechal and Ashley Slater. His daughter-in-law, Brianna Clifford-Senechal and his son-in-law, Chip Slater, held a special place in his heart. Rich was predeceased by his son, Casey Senechal, whose memory he held dear. His granddaughters, Casey Anne Slater, and Kiley Morgan Slater were the light of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Rich was the son of the late Jules and Georgette Senechal. He also leaves behind many beloved family members and close friends.
He was a graduate of Windham High School. Rich was a hardworking individual who spent many years working alongside his dad in the nursery business. He then worked at Bicc Cable/Brand Rex for many years, where he met his very best friend, Paul Carpenter.
Rich was a man of many interests, but his passion for hunting and fishing was unparalleled. He was an enthusiast who loved the thrill of the chase and the peace that came with being in nature. Four-wheeling was another of his favorite pastimes, and he loved nothing more than embarking on great adventures with his son. Camping was another of his passions, and he loved exploring new places.
As the famous quote by John Muir goes, "In every walk with nature, one receives far more than he seeks," and this was certainly true for Rich. His love for the outdoors was infectious, and he passed on this passion to his family and friends.
Rich was a kind, friendly, and thoughtful man. He had a heart full of love for his family and friends, and he was always there to lend a helping hand. His sense of humor was infectious, and he had a knack for making people feel comfortable and welcomed. He was a man who believed in the power of kindness and the importance of friendship.
In his passing, we remember Rich not just for his love of adventure and the outdoors, but for his kindness, his friendly nature, and his thoughtfulness. He was a man who lived life to the fullest, who loved deeply, and who left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him.
