Dennis Shaw CLINTON -- Richard Dennis Shaw, 69, of 113 Tallwood Drive Apt. 31, Clinton, died Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born in Atlanta, GA, he was the son of the late Howard and Edith Smith Shaw. Dennis was a U.S. Navy veteran of Vietnam. He was a USC graduate and retired from Laurens City Police Department. Dennis was a member of Eastside Baptist Church of Laurens, where he was a former deacon, in the James McKlehannon Sunday school class and church treasurer. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Darby Dutton. Surviving are three children, Tabatha Denise Rogers (Jason) of Kinards, Tracy Findley (Jack) of Plum Branch and Candice Shaw of Columbia; two brothers, Roger Shaw (Hope) of Greenwood and Mike Shaw of Alabama; nineteen grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday at Harley Funeral Home Chapel, with Jack Findley, III and Rev. J.D. Putman, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jack Fred Dutton, IV, Elijah Findley, Cass Dutton, Gabriel Findley, Luke Josey, Jacob Rogers, Brantley Rogers and Jay Yingling. Honorary escort will be the members of Laurens City Police Department and Laurens County Police Department. The family will receive friends on Sunday at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. Family members are at their respective homes.
