Richard "Dick" Joseph Sieger, 80, of Cary, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family.
Born on June 23, 1944, in Kenosha, Wisconsin, to Karl Sieger and Lorraine (Berg) Sieger. He devoted his life to his family, fun and adventures. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Karl, David, Tom, Daniel and sisters Fran and Chris.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Dorothy Ann Robinson Sieger; his daughters, Carrie Ann Stepnoski and husband, Eric Stepnoski, Amelia Lorraine Shaw and husband David Shaw; son, Marc Anthony Sieger, and wife Courtney Sieger; grandchildren, Kaylee, Abigail, Nate, Vivian, Lilah, Gwenyth, Declan, Alex, and Abigail; and brother,Timothy Sieger.
Dick worked for IBM for 25 years.He began his career in Jefferson City, Missouri repairing typewriters and by the time he retired he was working as technical support on computers. He got his degree in Administration from University of Wisconsin, Green Bay while working with IBM. IBM gave him many opportunites which led to numerous moves around the US with his family. He always made sure that his family was able to explore the states and surrounding areas. There were many road trips that included exploring mountains, beaches, State Parks and historical sites which included camping with the family. Dick had a sense for adventure and loved to travel, especially on his motorcycle to places all around the United States and Mexico. He also experienced road trips across the country with his wife, Dorothy. He loved hiking and the outdoors, especially Zion National Park.
After retiring from IBM he worked for Q+E in technical support and then went on to use his skills from his days in the Air Force as a pharmacy technician at CVS. Dick was always educating himself on the newest technology even after leaving the industry. When he wasn't working he enjoyed remodeling and repairing anything and everything at home.
Richard was a devoted parishioner of St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church in Apex and a proud U.S. Air Force veteran.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church located at 3008 Old Raleigh Rd.in Apex, NC, 27502 on February 21, 2025 at 11:00am, with Father John Durbin officiating. The Eulogy will begin at 10:45 am. A reception will follow in the parish hall.
