Richard Snider Obituary
Richard Clyde Snider, a devoted family man and cherished member of the community, passed away peacefully at the age of 85 on October 5, 2025, at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington, NC. Born on May 25, 1940, in Randolph County, NC, Richard lived a life marked by hard work, kindness, and a deep love for his family and friends.
Richard spent many years as an accomplished electrician and plumber, dedicating his skills to helping others. Known for his generosity, he never hesitated to lend a hand when needed. Outside of work, Richard was a storyteller at heart, captivating those around him with tales of his adventures and experiences. He found great joy in the outdoors, enjoying hunting, fishing, flounder gigging, and golf. A passionate gardener, he loved watching seeds sprout and grow, finding serenity in nature's process.
Richard also had a deep love for baseball, both playing and coaching, sharing his enthusiasm for the sport with younger generations. His friendly wave was a welcome sight to all who knew him, symbolizing his open-hearted approach to life.
A faithful member of Pierce Chapel Primitive Baptist Church in Jackson Creek, Richard's spiritual commitment was a cornerstone of his life, guiding his actions and strengthening his faith.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde C. and Hazel Latham Snider; his sons, Kevin "Kyle" Snider and Edward Lee "Eddie" Snider; and siblings Edith V. Gallimore, Willa Dean Cagle, Ralph F. Snider, Burrell U. Snider, and Raeford B. Snider.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 65 years, Judy Mae Owens Snider, of the home; his daughter, Lynette D. Snider; his son, David K. Snider and wife Megan; sisters Susie Snider Cook and Nancy Snider Skeen; and grandsons Stephen D. Snider, Nicholas A. Snider and fiancée Hailey, Mason A. Snider, and Miles E. Snider.
Visitation will be held from 1-2 PM on Friday, October 10, 2025, at Gravel Hill Baptist Church in New Hope, followed by the funeral service at 2 PM, officiated by Elder Dale Brown and Rev. Claudie Harrison. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
Richard's warm presence and unwavering kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of love and friendship will forever remain in our hearts. Midstate Cremation & Funeral Service in Asheboro is honored to assist the family of Mr. Richard Clyde Snider.
