Richard Dale Tinsley, born April 12, 1959, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on April 26, 2025, at the age of 67.
Richard was a man of quiet strength, known for his love of the outdoors, his protective spirit, and the gentle presence he offered in moments that mattered most. Whether standing beside a horse or riding through trails on an ATV, he created memories that made those around him feel safe, cared for, and seen.
He was a veteran of the Army, a craftsman of sorts, and someone who carried a spark of charm and humor beneath his sometimes-reserved nature. Richard was a complex soul-fierce in his independence, yet capable of deep tenderness in rare and unforgettable moments.
Richard is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth Letorney, Rebecca Chambers, Janna Bosley, and his five grandchildren, who carry forward his legacy with strength, heart, and resilience. He is also survived by a sister, Karen Norman, and many who knew him through friendship and family ties.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Debbie Tinsley, and his parents, Kenneth Tinsley and Edith Bolton Tinsley.
Richard is also remembered by his late wife's children, Wendy Kenney, with whom he shared part of his later years.
A private ceremony will be held by the family to honor his life and memory.
Condolences may be sent to the family at www.barlowbonsall.com.
