Mr. Richard "Ricky" Heard Tolbert, 73, of Dallas, GA, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2025, at Wellstar Paulding Medical Center. He was born at home on September 18, 1951, on what is now High Point Road in Douglas County, the son of the late Robert Tolbert and the late Virginia Braswell Tolbert.
Ricky coached youth baseball and football for many years at New Georgia/South Paulding. He was an avid golfer. Before hanging up his hammer and turning off his saw, Ricky worked in the construction business. He was also a frequent uber driver for his grandchildren when they were younger. His life was a life well-lived, and he was well loved. Ricky will be missed by both family and friends.
Ricky is survived by his wife of 52 years, Holly Clark Tolbert of Dallas, son and daughter-in-law, Rhys and Michelle Tolbert of Douglasville, his favorite grandchildren, Chase and Maddie Tolbert, sister, Sandra Worthy of Piedmont, AL, in-laws, Jane and Richard Hicks of Dallas and Gail Crew of Dallas, nieces and nephews, Kristi Worthy, Bill and Melissa Crew, Jim Hicks, Phil and Jennifer Hicks, and special great niece and nephew Kristyn Hicks and Ethan Hicks.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 16, 2025, from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM at J. Collins Funeral Home.
Memorial Service will be conducted Friday, May 16, 2025, at 4:00 PM from the Chapel of J. Collins Funeral Home with Pastor Josh Agan officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gateway Baptist Church Summer Day Camp. https://cash.app/$GatewayUth
