Richard Joseph "Tut" Triche, a native of Reserve, passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at the age of 82. He was a resident of LaPlace for 50 years but returned to his hometown of Reserve approximately 10 years ago. He was born in New Orleans on November 9, 1942, to the late Alice "Kitty" Terrio Triche and Alvin Joseph Triche, Sr. He graduated from Leon Godchaux High School in 1960. He was a long-time employee of Kaiser Aluminum in Gramercy. Richard always loved the sport of baseball whether it was playing baseball in his younger days, teaching his children how to play baseball and cabbage ball, or coaching youth baseball, especially his son's teams, during the summers at Larayo. In his later years he loved to watch his grandchildren participate in their sporting events. He enjoyed watching the LSU Tigers baseball team, even this year as they won the College World Series while he was in the hospital. He was an LSU football season ticket holder for many years and took pride in being able to attend games and go tailgating with his wife and four children.
Richard was the beloved husband of the late Rogerie Woods Triche. They were married on February 1, 1964, until Rogerie's passing in late 1994. He was the loving and devoted father of Chantal Triche Waguespack (Daniel), Tiffany Triche, Monique Triche, Carlyle Triche (Stacie), and the late baby C.J. Triche. He was the best Paw Paw of Joshua M. Vicknair (Alanna), Rhea Triche, Thomas D. Waguespack (Macie), Brittany Vicknair (Jude), and Cameron J. Waguespack. He was also great Paw Paw of Larry, Leah, Lylah, Logan, Laina, and Livia Triche and Joshua, Jr., Jaxon, Alivia, and Adalynn Vicknair.
Richard "Tut" was the loving brother of Judy Triche Haydel (Nelson) and the late Alvin Joseph Triche, Jr. (Cheryl) and the brother-in-law of Gary Woods (Sandy). He is survived by many nieces and nephews and was the devoted godfather to Mark Triche, Rhonda Triche Boe, Colette Haydel Taillon, and the late Brian Woods. He was the son-in-law of the late Myrtis Landaiche and Harlan C. Woods.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to St. Peter Catholic Church in Reserve.
