Becky Ruth Weber, a devoted mother, proud grandmother, and beloved member of the Laplace, Louisiana community, passed away peacefully on September 29th, 2025 at the age of 66.
While she was born on July 17, 1959, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Becky made her home - and her mark - in Laplace, Louisiana, where she raised her three sons and became a cherished figure in the lives of many. She served for many years as the cafeteria manager at Ascension of Our Lord School and later as a Kidcam Director at the same school. Her commitment to the children and families she served extended far beyond her work - she was a second mother to many of her children's friends and a warm, familiar presence to generations of students.
Becky was known for her outgoing personality, infectious laugh, and generous heart. With a deep love for sports and an enduring passion for basketball, she could often be found cheering on her sons or coaching their teams. Her greatest joy came from raising Matt, Tommy, and Mike - the pride of her life - and later from doting on her grandchildren: Rosie, Will, and Abe Weber.
She is survived by her sons Matt Weber, Tommy Weber (Alyse), and Mike Weber (Autumn); her grandchildren Rosie, Will, and Abe; her brother Rob Gailey and sister Beth Gailey; and countless friends who became family through her warmth and kindness.
A funeral Mass will be held in her honor at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 6666 Spanish Fort Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124, on Friday, October 17th, 2025 at 2:00 PM, with visitation beginning at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Becky by sharing a kind word, extending a helping hand to someone in need, or simply laughing a little louder - just as she would have.
