Richard A. Troullier, was born on August 28, 1935 in Slidell, Louisiana to the late Jane Galatas Dupre and Horace Phillip Troullier.
Richard graduated from St. Tammany High School, and received a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Arts from Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA. He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity.
Richard married Diane Cahn in 1964 and to this union, three boys were born, Wendell, Richard Jr. and Kevin. Those who knew him well know he was happiest with family, enjoying the outdoors or a fire, or headfirst in a crawlspace making sure South Louisianians had adequate air conditioning. He was also a master craftsman in woodworking as evidenced by the many projects he completed for family and friends over the years.
In 1956, Richard enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps as an Artillery Fire Control Manager. He served overseas in Okinawa, Japan and attained the rank of E-4 (Corporal) before joining the Air Force Reserves and completed his military service in 1964.
Upon graduating college, Richard began teaching Drafting and Industrial Arts at East High School (Cleveland, OH.). He moved his young family home where in 1967 he began a career with Exxon Corp. He retired in 1986 and owned his own A/C repair business before returning to his alma mater. There he supervised the physical plant until his second retirement.
On Thursday morning, February 13, 2025, God sent an angel to bring Richard home to a peaceful rest. He is survived by his wife, Diane Troullier; three sons, Wendell Troullier and wife Monica of Warner Robins, GA; Richard Troullier Jr. (Dickie) and Kevin Troullier of Baton Rouge, LA; three grandchildren; Haley, Chance and David; one great grandchild, Corinne; one sister, Selma Harrison Peters of Slidell, LA; one sister-in-law, Vanessa Cahn Mason of Donaldsonville, LA; two brothers-in-law, Harvey Cahn and Ronald Cahn of Donaldsonville, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents Jane Galatas Dupre and Horace Troullier; four brothers, Bernard Vander, Ferdinand Troullier, Norman Troullier, Sr. and Marshall Troullier; three sisters, Alma Troullier Harrison, Annette Troullier Paul and Myrtle Troullier.
