Brother Lawrence Jones, Jr., 89 years of age, a native of Donaldsonville, LA and was a resident of Geismar, LA. He transitioned from his earthly home on August 15, 2025 in Baton Rouge, LA while a patient at Baton Rouge General Hospital, to his heavenly home. He was born in Raceland, LA on October 11, 1935 to Earlene Barnes Washington and Lawrence Jones, Sr..

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, of 55 years of marriage, Evelina Saucier Jones, a daughter, Tanya Jones-Delmore (Jason) of Prairieville, LA, a son, Lawrence T. Jones (Tricia) of Austin, TX, a daughter, Debra Tubbs, of Dallas, TX, and a son Gerald Williams, of Belle Rose, LA, a sister Rosa Jones Smith of Donaldsonville, LA, a sister-in-law Patricia Washington of Rome, GA,. Also his grandchildren Marcus Jones (Allison) of Gonzales, LA, Christian Jones, of Geismar, LA, Kerrance Caldwell (Raquel) and Tony Caldwell of Groves, TX, Gabriella and Isabella Jones of Austin, TX. One god-child, Darlene Cantrell of Donaldsonville, LA, a host of nieces and nephews along with a large host of cherished family and friends.

He accepted Christ in his life at an early age by Rev. Mark Butler at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Donaldsonville, LA. He attended and graduated high school at St. Catherine Catholic School in Donaldsonville, LA in 1955.

He served his nation for 22 years as a member of the United States Air Force and received the following commendations: GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL ARMY; AIR FORCE LONGEVITY SERVICE RIBBON w/40LC; NATIONAL DEFENSE SERVICE MEDAL; VIETNAM SERVICE MEDAL; REPUBLIC OF VIETNAM CAMPAIGN MEDAL; AIR FORCE GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL w/1S0LC, AIR FORCE COMMENDATION MEDAL. He retired with the rank of Master Sergeant. He received a diploma from DeVry Institute of Technology, (Home Entertainment Electronics System II in December, 1976).

After his military service he was employed at BASF, Wyandotte, Geismar, as an instrument technician for 15 yrs. He was an active member of the deacon board and a choir member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, until he became ill. He was initiated in 1964 and later became an active Mason of Hiram Lodge #12. He has been a part of the Masonic family for 61 years.
