Richard "Rick" Lyle Troutte, aged 64, passed away on September 14, 2025, in
Rowlett, TX. Born on January 5, 1961, in Little Rock, AR, Rick was a man of robust spirit and loving heart who made a lasting impact on everyone he met.
Rick is survived by his cherished wife, Susan Troutte, with whom he shared a beautiful and enduring partnership. He was a devoted father to his daughter, Abby Demirovic, and her husband, Armin, and to his son, Sam Troutte, and his wife, Tori. Rick's role as "Pawpaw" brought him immense joy, and he leaves behind a legacy of love in his grandchildren, Emma, Kaylee, Enzo, and Niko. His mother, Carolyn Troutte, and brothers, Charles Troutte with his wife, Soundra, and Phillip Troutte with his wife, Rachel, will fondly remember Rick's unwavering presence in their lives. He was preceded in death by his son, Josh Richard Troutte, and his father, Eddie Troutte.
An alumnus of Texas A&M University, Rick was a man of keen intellect and determination. His educational background laid a foundation for a life characterized by a high expectation of intelligence, both in himself and others. Rick's adventurous spirit led him to a multitude of interests; he was a passionate hunter, a certified scuba instructor, and an avid traveler who explored the world with an insatiable curiosity.
Rick's strong sense of spirituality was evident in his devotion to his church, Christ the Redeemer Anglican Church in Rowlett, where he was a committed member. His faith guided him through life's challenges and triumphs, and he was known for his mentorship, often providing guidance and support to many who sought his counsel.
A devoted Mason, Rick lived by the principles of brotherhood, truth, and charity. His home was a welcoming haven, a place where he made everyone feel included and valued. His love for cooking was legendary, especially when it came to hosting family parties. The annual crawfish boil was a much-anticipated event, a testament to Rick's love for traditions and his Scottish heritage.
Rick's great sense of humor will be remembered fondly, especially his fondness for "dad jokes" that could always elicit laughter from his family and friends. He also enjoyed the finer things in life, appreciating a good Scotch or Jameson Whiskey in the company of loved ones.
Described as loving, adventurous, and spirited, Rick's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the pursuit of life's adventures. His hard-headed determination and generous spirit made him a remarkable individual who will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A funeral service to honor the life of Rick will take place the following day, Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 2:00pm, Crossroads Church, located 7900 Chiesa Rd,
Rowlett, TX 75089 with Fr. Barry Montgomery officiating.
