Richard Alan Vallelonga

Richard Alan Vallelonga, aged 78, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2025, in Powhatan Point, Ohio Surrounded by his family. Born on September 13, 1946, in Bellaire, Ohio, Richard lived a life marked by dedication and service to his family and community.
Richard worked diligently throughout his career as an electrician in the construction industry, where he was known for his skill and commitment. His contributions to his field were valued by all who had the privilege of working alongside him.
A proud veteran, Richard was a Life Member of both the VFW Post 5565 and the American Legion Post 228, where he formed lasting friendships and shared his experiences with fellow servicemen.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lena Vallelonga; his father, Anthony Vallelonga; his mother, Eileen Vallelonga; and his sister, Carmella Vallelonga. Richard's memory will be cherished by his surviving family: his son, Jim Vallelonga, and daughter-in-law, Teresa Vallelonga; and his grandsons, Anthony and Elijah Vallelonga.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Home, 186 Main Street - Powhatan Point Chapel. A Veterans Service will follow at 12 p.m. at the funeral home, with a graveside service immediately thereafter at Powhatan Cemetery, where Richard will be laid to rest with honors befitting his service.
Richard Allan Vallelonga will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his work, and his country. He leaves behind a legacy of love and respect that will endure in the hearts of those who knew him.
