Richard C. Van Dyne, 81, of Stroudsburg, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Pocono in East Stroudsburg.
Born on March 31, 1943 in Wilson, he was the son of the late Arthur and Hilda Van Dyne and lived in Monroe County for most of his life.
He worked at the Olde Engine Works Marketplace in Stroudsburg for the past 49 years.
Richard enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping and going to the movies every Saturday and Sunday.
Surviving are his three children, Richard, Vickey and Jen Van Dyne; two step-children: Kristi St. Clair and husband Keith, and Cliff Van Buskirk; several grandchildren including his grandson, Tyler Deiter; several great grandchildren, his black lab, Daisy; and his special friend and former boss, William P. Douglas.
He was preceded in death by his significant other, Diane Van Buskirk in 2016.
"There are no words to express what you have meant to me, and for being the dad you did not have to be. You were a simple man with such a kind heart. We may have not been related by blood but you loved me more than anyone could. I'll forever treasure the memories and I will not feel sad, because in my heart I was so lucky to have the perfect step-dad. Thank you for always being my biggest supporter. I love you always, Kristi"
As per his wishes there will be no services.
