Richard Scott West, 58, of Hopkinton, NH died Saturday October 5, 2024, at his home in Hopkinton, NH.
Born September 24, 1966, in Lowell, Ma, he was the son of the late Herman Lee West who died June 3, 2013 and Carol (McGuire) West who died November 20, 2022. He was also predeceased by his brother Kevin West who died July 9, 2020.
Richard was a graduate of Nashua High School, class of 1985 and was also a graduate of Middlesex Community College in Bedford, MA.
He had served in the US Army and he then went on to work for thirty plus years in the printing department at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, NH. He then went on to work in the environmental services department at Concord Hospital.
Richard was known for his kind heart and thoughtfulness. He had an innate ability to listen and support those around him, leaving a lasting impact on all who were fortunate enough to know him. Richard enjoyed solving Rubik's Cubes, watching the New England Patriots, collecting eccentric shoes, listening to music and expressed his creativity through writing poetry and children's stories. Above all, Richard cherished his family. He loved spending time with his loved ones but was particularly fond of creating precious memories with his grandchildren. His playful spirit and unwavering love will be deeply missed.
Survivors include his wife of twenty years, Carol (Cooper) West, of Hopkinton, NH and with whom he married on May 15, 2004; children, Michael Noel, Misty Johnson and her husband Eric, and Alea Kenney; grandchildren, Briana Noel, Olivia and Abigail Johnson; siblings, Herman West and his wife Julie, Kelley Theriault and her husband Al; sister-in-law, Heather West, brother-in-law John White and wife Pam, and brother-in-law William Cooper; nieces/nephews, Cameron and Kaitlyn West, Justin and Irelynne West, AJ Theriault and Jaliceanna Santiago, Cindy and Brittany Poitras, Jonathan and Justin White.
SERVICES: Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 4:00 pm – 6:30 pm at the Davis Funeral Home, 1 Lock St., Nashua, NH 03064. A service will be held at 6:30 pm (immediately following visitation) in the chapel of the Davis Funeral Home. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Burial will be held Tuesday October 15, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Woodlawn Cemetery, Kinsley Sy., Nashua, NH.
