Richard "Dick" Wirth

Richard "Dick" John Wirth, 84 of Nevada, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2024, at his home.
Dick was born June 19, 1940, in Ames, Iowa the son of Aloysisus "Ollie" and Evelyn Loretta (Jensen) Wirth. He graduated from Gilbert High School in 1958, and was united in marriage to Phyllis Caine on October 5, 1963, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Dick worked as a computer programmer for Nevada Computer Center for over 40 years.
Dick enjoyed yardwork and his hobby farm of 20 acres. He especially loved to spend time with his family.
Dick is survived by his wife, Phyllis of Nevada; his children Dennis Wirth and Tammy (Jamey) Sharp; his grandchildren Myshaella Sharp (Jimmey Cathi), Hunter (Noel) Wirth, Peyton Sharp (Aileen Acosta), Zac Sharp, Hallie Wirth, Caitlyn Sharp and Samara Sharp (Brenden Eiser); one great-grandchild on the way; his siblings Rose Wirth, Ray (Vickie) Wirth, Al (Sandy) Wirth and Don (Sharon) Wirth; and his brother and sister in-law Philip and Sheryl Caine. He was preceded in death by his parents; his children Tina and Troy Wirth (in infancy); his sisters Joyce Geerdes and Annette (Dan) Leach; his brothers Jim (Alyce) Wirth, Bill Wirth and Raymond Charles Wirth (in infancy); and his granddaughter Faith Wirth (in infancy).
A visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, July 18, 2024, at Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home (1418 Fawcett Pkwy) in Nevada. A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 19, at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery near Gilbert with Father Richmond Dzekoe officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Iowa Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Dick.
