Richard Yax Obituary

Publish in a newspaper

Richard "Dick" Allen Yax, 86, of Covington, Kentucky, passed peacefully into the presence of the Lord on September 2, 2025. Born on April 25, 1939, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Dick lived a long and faithful life defined by love for his family, devotion to his faith, and a quiet strength that touched everyone who knew him.

Dick was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joyce June (Stark) Yax. Married for 45 years, their bond was a true testament to enduring love and commitment. Together they built a family that continues to carry forward their legacy of strength and devotion.

He is survived by his sister, Nancy Yates; his sons, David (Tracy Daffron) Yax and Joseph Yax; and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Lydia, Kalab (Amy) Moore, Sam, Silas, and Sparrow. Nothing brought Dick greater joy than watching his family grow through each new generation.

A man of steadfast Christian faith, Dick was an active member of Gideons International, dedicated to sharing God's Word with others. His life of service reflected his deep belief in the hope and strength found in Christ. He was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Those blessed to know Dick will remember his wisdom, gentle spirit, and unwavering love. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy of faith and family lives on in all who were shaped by his presence. A Celebration of Life will be held on September 13, 2025. The visitation will be 9:00-10:30 AM and service 11:00AM to 12:00PM EST at Calvary Baptist Church 3711 Tibbatts Street Covington, KY 41015. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The Gideons International and condolences to the family can be left at allisonrosefuneralhome.com.
