Rick Jensen Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bunker Family Funerals & Cremation - University Chapel on Feb. 18, 2026.
Rick Alva Jensen, 50, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Mesa, Arizona, on February 11, 2026. While his life was shorter than we would have wished, he lived it fully with enthusiasm, generosity, and compassion.

Rick was born on January 14, 1976, in Mesa, Arizona, to Al and Brenda Jensen. He attended MacArthur Elementary, Kino Junior High, and graduated from Mountain View High School. Rick achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest honor in Scouting. He also served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Brisbane, Australia.

Rick is survived by his parents, Al and Brenda Jensen; his four sons, Darren Jensen, Brett Burton, Clint Burton, and Hudson Burton; his sister Keri Ellenberger (Aaron); his brother Rahn Jensen (Jamie); and his sisters Kristle Jensen and Kastle Cardon (Patrick). He is also survived by 11 nephews, 3 nieces, and many uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Rick was a high-energy soul who loved others unconditionally. He was quick to smile and laugh, and he had a remarkable gift for turning strangers into friends. He worked tirelessly to overcome his weaknesses, facing life's challenges with enduring hope and a deep desire to grow. Though life was not always easy for Rick, he continued to meet it with a smile and did his very best to find happiness. Even in the midst of his own struggles, he never stopped making others feel like they were the most important person in his world.

He was so deeply loved, and though this parting is only temporary, he will be dearly missed until we are together again. Love you eternally, Rick.
