Rick Nix, Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, friend, passed away October 23, 2024 at the age of 69. He was born on May 16, 1955, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Rick and Dolly (Robinovitch) Nix. Rick was also preceded in death by his son-in-law, Matt Logsdon and sister-in-law, Cherie Nix. 

For more than 50 years, Rick dedicated his career to real estate, successfully developing his own company, Realty Plus. His professional accomplishments were matched only by his vibrant personality and generous spirit. Known for never meeting a stranger, Rick was always engaging, funny, and outgoing. He took pride in being a caretaker for his family and was known far and wide for his big heart, affectionately earning the titles of the best dad and “Papaw” to his grandchildren.

Rick cherished creating special memories with his family, especially during the holidays. He delighted in putting together small containers of candy for his grandchildren each Christmas, ensuring that they felt his love and the joy of the season. He would often remind them, “Nobody loves you like Papaw loves you,” a phrase that will echo warmly in their hearts forever. Rick enjoyed driving his golf cart around the camp, sharing laughter and adventures with his grandchildren, fostering strong bonds that they will carry with them always.

In addition to his devotion to family, Rick shared his love of sports by playing on a softball team alongside his friends and family. This passion further exemplified his ability to bring people together and create lasting friendships.

Rick is survived by his high school sweetheart of 50 years, Patti Jo Nix; children, Jana Troutman (Mark), Jessica Logsdon, and Ricky Nix, III; grandchildren, Chase Troutman, Hayden Logsdon, Patrick Logsdon, Maggie Logsdon, Curtis Troutman, and Gracie Nix; great-granddaughter, Lydia Troutman; and siblings, Debbie Anspach and Jack Nix. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. 

Rick Nix, Jr.’s legacy of love, laughter, and connection will continue through his family and friends, reflecting a life well-lived and well-loved. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all those whose lives he touched.

All services will be private and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
