Rick was a self-employed truck driver for many years before his decline in health forced an early retirement. He enjoyed working on cars and watching football in his spare time.
He married Dorie Mannering Patterson June 18, 2015, in Vinton, Ohio and she survives with his stepdaughters, Shanna (Josh) Adkins, Wilkesville, Ohio and Diana Rottersman, Newark, Ohio; step grandsons, Ryland Adkins and Logan Adkins, both of Wilkesville, Ohio; special family member, Justin Kisor, Vinton, Ohio and several aunts, uncles and other extended family members. He will be greatly missed by his fur babies, Bonnie and Little Bit.
In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded by maternal grandparents, Hiawatha and Mary Farley as well as his paternal grandparents.
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no funeral services. Cremation services are under the direction of the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home.
