Rick Rice, 62 of Mill Creek, WA, formerly of Tower City, ND, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2015 while vacationing in Hawaii. Rick was born on June 9, 1953 in Fargo, ND to Jack and Arlyn (Ball) Rice. He grew up and graduated from high school in Tower City. He served in the US Air Force for four years following graduation. After his discharge from the military, he attended NDSU and then moved to the Seattle, WA area where he worked for Consolidated Freight and other trucking companies for many years. Rick enjoyed fishing (especially trips to Alaska), hunting, golfing and boating in Puget Sound. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Curt and sister, Pat. Rick is survived by his sons, Grant Rice of Lynnwood, WA and John Eric Rice of Lynnwood, WA; sisters, Reta (Steve Volkey) Rice of Fargo, Renee (Jerry) Short of Detroit Lakes, MN and Rosemary (Tim) Cruz of Morgan Hill, CA; nieces, Angie Evjen and Sabrina Rice and nephew, Mike Evjen. Memorial Service: Saturday, November 7 at 2:00 pm at West Funeral Home, West Fargo with visitation from 1-2 pm at the funeral home.

Very sorry for your loss. I was a team mate for years with Rick in Tower City HS and in band. A lot of great memories.

I have many fond memories of the years we spent growing up together in Tower City. I have great sadness in Rick's passing. My prayers are with his family.
