Rickey Lynn Smith, age 67, of Middlesboro, KY, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2025, at the North Metro Knoxville Medical Center in Powell, TN. He was born August 24, 1957, the son of the late Marvin Smith and Mary E. Johnson Smith.
Rickey was a man who held a deep appreciation for the great outdoors. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially sitting on his front porch, where he delighted in visiting with family and friends. His love for those close to him was profound; he took great pride in his children and grandchildren, nurturing those relationships with unwavering affection.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Clarence Smith and his sister-in-law, Debora “Deb” Smith.
He is survived by his son, Chase (Beth) Smith; daughter, Stephanie (Gary) Gonzalez; grandchildren, Aiden Smith, Brice Smith, Carson Smith, Ashton Smith, Kaylynn Simpson, Dalton Simpson and Klair Simpson; brother, Ronald “Poe” Smith; sister and special brother-in-law, Shirley and Paul Clonce; and niece, Michelle (Troy) Ward; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Rickey will be remembered for his kind heart and loving spirit. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
