Mr. Ricky Leon Bigby of Anderson, SC passed away on January 28, 2025 at Prisma Hospital in Greenville, S.C. He is the son of Ms. Johnnie M. Clark and Mr. Ralph Bigby (deceased) both of Anderson, S. C. Ricky, affectionately known as Rick, is survived by his wife, Cynthia S. Bigby, children, grandchildren, mom, and other family members.
He leaves behind to mourn his passing his children, Antonious (Andrea) Pressley of Simpsonville, SC; Ryan (Shatara) Bigby of Rex, GA, and a daughter, Kiana Bigby of Belton, SC.
Ricky attended elementary, middle and high schools in Anderson District Five. While at Hanna, he enjoyed acting, singing, R.O.T. and driving the school bus. His favorite play was "The Mouse that Roared." Ricky loved people and never met a stranger. He also loved sports and children. Ricky was very talented. After high school graduation, he attended Morris Brown College on GA., where he resumed singing and acting. He began coaching Little League Baseball where he continued for many years. Soon thereafter, he joined the police department, then sheriff department, School Resource Officer then became an unofficial mentor to many of the students.
After a child, Ricky attended St. John's Pentecostal Holiness Church and upon returning to Anderson, he joined Kingdom Vision Worship Center in Anderson, SC., under Archbishop Harris E. Clark. His favorite was "How Great Thou Art."
The funeral service for Mr. Bigby will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at The Unity Mortuary of Anderson at 2:00 pm.
Public Viewing will be held at the mortuary on Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm.
