Ricky Allen Dye, age 64, of Lebanon, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 16, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 23, 1961, in Lebanon, Virginia, son of the late William “Bill” and Nancy Dye.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 44 years, Sharon Dye; his son, Matthew Dye and wife Ashton of Lebanon, VA; his daughter, Miranda Sproles and husband Josh of Abingdon, VA; his brother, Eddie Dye and wife Teressa of Knoxville, TN; his sister, Debbie Rhea and husband Ronnie of Myrtle Beach, SC; and his sister-in-law, Karen Rhea and husband Denver of Cleveland, VA. His greatest joys were his beloved grandchildren: Aiden Dye, Carter Sproles, and Emily Sproles. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many lifelong friends.
Rick resided in Lebanon for most of his life. He enjoyed camping trips with his family, yard sales, fishing, and sitting on his back porch looking out at the mountains. More than anything, he cherished his role as “Popaw Rick” and “Pops” to his grandchildren. He beamed with pride whenever he spoke of them, and nothing brought him more happiness than watching them play sports, attending their school events, and seeing them grow.
Rick was employed with Strongwell Corporation in Bristol, VA, for the past 14 years, where he formed many special friendships that meant so much to him.
