RICKY JOE EDWARDS, AGE 59
And a longtime resident of the Sunny Hill Community passed away Friday morning October 11, 2024 at his home. He was an experienced and successful wildlife trapper, having learned the art of trapping as a young boy going alongside his father and grandfather in the woods and fields all around the area. Ricky often sold his trappings and in earlier years the animal hides. He just always loved spending time outdoors with his coon hunting buddies, hopeful to find a full trap each time, and then set it again for the next go-round. He was blessed with a truly kind soul, always willing to help others in need, sometimes buying groceries for his neighbors, giving a ride to folks that needed it, or just visiting his friends. Ricky never met a stranger and knew so many people around the area who enjoyed hearing the great story telling about his outdoor adventures. He loved riding his 4-wheeler and also enjoyed tinkering as a mechanic or small-engine repairman for his family, friends and neighbors. Ricky will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.

Also numerous nieces, nephews, their families and his many coon hunting buddies
He was preceded in death by his father Thomas Hardy Edwards, sister in law Lois Edwards, his grandparents and other family members.
Visitation will be at Sunny Hill Baptist Church Monday October 14th from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. A funeral service will be held in the church at 11:00 am Monday with Rev. William Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
