Ricky Gardner, 70, Cromwell passed away at 9:27 pm on Thursday, May 1, 2025 , at Wesleyan Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Marion. He was born in Marion, Indiana on Friday, January 7, 1955. His parents are Paul and Doris Gardner. On June 29, 1974, he married Tanya (Havens) who survives.

After his graduation from Marion High School, Ricky enlisted in the United States Army. He was very proud of his service to his country. In his time of enlistment, he was recognized for many honors. He enjoyed his work as a helicopter repair technician.

Following his military service, Ricky worked at Schneider Trucking as well as Chrysler. He loved fishing and boating. He loved building things with his three sons. Ricky enjoyed teaching himself how to play the guitar. His most precious time was spent with his wife, three sons, and grandchildren.

In addition to his loving wife, Tanya, survivors include his sons, Chad (Nichole), Jeremy (Teneal) and Jesse Gardner. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Jacob, Eli and Levi. His mother, Doris and sister, Lisa, also survive.

He is preceded in death by his father, Paul Edward Gardner; and his brother, Greg Gardner; as well as many other half brothers. He was also preceded in death by this beloved grandmother, Almeda Gardner.

The family will receive visitors from 9:30 am to 10:30 am on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Grant Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, 1606 W. 26th St. Marion, Indiana.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a burial memorial to celebrate Ricky's life will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday at Marion National Cemetery. During this time family and friends will be asked to share a memory of Ricky.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Wounded Warrior Project PO Box 758516, Topeka KS 66675-8516.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Integrity Funeral Care 1606 W. 26th St., Marion, IN.
