Ricky Darrell Nichols, age 66, of Cedar Bluff, Virginia, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2025 in a Richlands, Virginia hospital.
He was born in Richlands, Virginia and was the son of the late Lloyd Nichols and Vernia Effler Nichols.
He had spent most of his life in the Richlands area and was a former coal miner and construction worker. Ricky loved to work and was always out and about helping people get jobs finished. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Ronnie, Dan, Randall, and Dwrey Nichols.

Kaci Nichols and Ronnie Horn of Cedar Bluff, Virginia
Breanna Nichols and Curtis Rapier of Abingdon, Virginia
Son: Ricky Nichols of Bristol, Virginia
Companion of 12 years: Nancy Houchins
Step Children: Angel Stilwell of Cedar Bluff, Virginia and Amanda Lester of Richlands, Virginia
Sister: Judy Casteel and husband, Roger of Pounding Mill, Virginia
Grandchildren: Asher Justus, Kenneth Stilwell, Wyatt Rapier, and Emberly Rapier
Best Friends: David Rasnake, Anthony Boyd, and Terry Robinette
Special Nephews: Ray and Adam Nichols

Funeral services for Ricky Darrell Nichols will be conducted Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at 2pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. James Horton officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 12pm until 2pm on Tuesday prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help with funeral costs.
