It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ricky Francis Tepper, who departed this life on March 14, 2025, at his home in Sterling Heights, Michigan. Born on April 16, 1958, in Detroit, Michigan, Ricky was a kind-hearted and devoted individual, whose zest for life left an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Ricky was a proud member of the U.S. Army, where he was trained as a cook. His military service instilled in him a strong work ethic and a dedication to helping others, characteristics that he carried throughout his life. He was very happy and proficient at his position as a quality inspector in the aerospace and automotive sectors, where he contributed his skills and knowledge with diligence and care.
Ricky's personality radiated warmth and kindness. He was helpful almost to a fault, always seeking to enhance the lives of those around him. His ability to make others smile and find joy in every situation was a testament to his character; he would always ensure that everyone around him was having a good time. His love for life extended beyond work, as he had an abiding passion for music. He frequently attended live concerts and cherished his collection of music memorabilia. Ricky also found respite in northern Michigan, where places like Mackinaw City, Roscommon, St. Ignace, Traverse City, and Saugatuck held a special place in his heart. He delighted in gathering with family and friends around a bonfire, creating lasting memories.
Known for his mechanical expertise and love of cars, Ricky spent countless hours in his garage working on vehicles. His hands were rarely still as he tweaked and upgraded cars. Tragically, he passed away suddenly while engaged in this beloved hobby, doing what he loved most.
Ricky was also a wonderful cook, and his culinary delights were a treasure to his family. His signature City Chicken and Golabki will be fondly remembered by those who had the pleasure of enjoying his meals.
Ricky leaves behind a loving family who will remember him dearly. He is survived by his sons, Ricky (Sarah Junkin) Tepper and Eric (Amanda) Tepper; his grandchildren, Kable and Harper; his girlfriend, Claudine Andre; his brother, Bryan (Ann) Tepper; his sister-in-law, Janet Tepper; and his brother-in-law, Ron Brown. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Teresa Tepper; his brother, Dave Tepper; and his sister, Renee Brown.
Visitation services will be held on March 21, 2025, at Wysocki Funeral Home in Warren, Michigan, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a Trisagion Service occurring at 6:00 PM. Funeral services will be conducted the following day, March 22, 2025, at the same location, beginning at 11:00 AM with a time to gather starting at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan.
Ricky Francis Tepper will be remembered for his infectious spirit, unwavering kindness, and the joy he brought to those he loved. His legacy of love and laughter will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who had the privilege of being part of his life.
