Mr. Rick Howard Wilson, age 61, passed away at home Saturday, December 30, 2023 surrounded by loved ones. Rick was born in Savannah to the late Thurston Lee Wilson and Annie Mildred Hollis Wilson on May 21, 1962. He served in the U.S. Army and later became a member of the Carpenters Union Local 256, he was a foreman and he worked for over 25 years with his brotherhood. He then worked for Clifton Construction for 3 years, Chatham County Public Works for 2 years and was employed with Bryan County Public Works for four years as a heavy equipment operator. Rick would light up the dance floor and was never too shy to be the first one to start dancing! He loved writing songs and playing his guitar! He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being on the water. He loved driving his Corvette and riding his motorcycle in different charity runs! Most of all he loved spending time with his four children!
He is preceded in death by his parents, Thurston Lee Wilson and Annie Mildred Hollis Wilson and sister, Kathy Ann Wilson Clark.
Survivors include his four children, Ricky Wilson and Amber of Savannah, Crystal Hoey and husband Shawn Hoey of Savannah, Valerie Nicole Jackson and husband Zachary Jackson of Blitchton and Wendy Atkinson of Savannah; his brother Tommy Lee Wilson of Savannah; companion Teresa Russell of Savannah; ex-wife, Pam Brown and her daughter, whom Rick thought of as his daughter, Kyndle Brown; eight grandchildren, M.J., Chance, Shallyn, James Michael, Vanessa, Jacob, Carson and Ashlynn; two nieces, Cheryl and Jennifer; two nephews, Travis and Billy and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024 from 12:30 – 2:00 p.m. at Flanders Powell Funeral Home.
Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Flanders Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Doctor Lawrence Butler officiating.
Burial will proceed at Northside Cemetery.
