Ricky L. Yegge Jr., age 51, of
Lakeland, Florida, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 16, 2025, in Orlando, Florida, after a brief illness.
Born on November 28, 1973, in Cudahy, Wisconsin, Ricky was the beloved son of Ricky L. Yegge Sr. and Diane M. Yegge (Zielinski). He grew up in the Milwaukee suburbs and later moved to Grafton, where he graduated from Grafton High School. He went on to earn a degree from the University of WisconsinEau Claire. He served six years in the Air Force Reserves and was honorably discharged.
Throughout his life, Ricky lived in several communities including Wisconsin Rapids, WI; Marinette, WI; Menominee, MI; Grand Rapids, MI; and Darlington, WI, before eventually settling in
Lakeland, FL, where he found peace and happiness in his final years.
Ricky was a vibrant, compassionate, and kind-hearted man whose infectious smile and quick wit left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Friends, family, and colleagues from across the country have shared heartfelt stories and cherished memories since his passingtestaments to a life well-lived and deeply loved.
He had a strong bond with his family and found joy in the simple thingssharing rounds of golf with his dad, spending time in the kitchen or folding laundry with his mom, and enjoying late-night phone calls with his siblings. He had a successful career as a plant manager, where his natural leadership and people skills earned him admiration and respect from coworkers and employees alike.
Ricky is survived by his loving parents, Ricky Sr. and Diane Yegge; his children, Brayden Yegge (serving in the U.S. Air Force in England) and Michael Kinsey (Jessica) of Green Bay, WI; his sister, Heather Tyson (Brian) of
Lakeland, FL; and his brother, Jerod Yegge (Danielle) of Germantown, WI. He is also survived by his very special friend Robyn Nelson of Palm Bay, FL, and his cherished little dog, Emma. Ricky leaves behind many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom he remained close to throughout his life.
A Celebration of Life will be held on August 2, 2025, in Germantown, WI. A private family service will be held on what would have been his 52nd birthday, November 28, 2025.
