Suzanne Walden Roberson

Suzanne Walden Roberson, 86, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at Advent Health in Lake Wales, Fl.

A Lakeland native, she was born Oct. 21, 1938.

She was a 1956 graduate of Lakeland High School.

She was a retiree from Roses Stores Inc. in Asheboro, North Carolina, where she was awarded many employee achievement awards. After moving to Florida in 1989, she inherited babysitting duties of her beloved grandson, Michael, whom she absolutely adored. She started work at Bethel Baptist Church in May 2001 as a secretary. She also coordinated many senior trips that the church took. In December 2013, she retired to her yard work, tending to her flowers, and also stayed active with the church.

She is survived by her sons Thomas Albert Roberson, of Lynchburg, Virginia, and Henry Gordon Roberson of Lakeland, Florida. Grandson Michael Anthony Roberson of Lakeland, sister-in-law, Rosemary Walden of Lakeland, former daughter-in-law Peggy Kennedy Roberson of Lakeland, and Henry's life partner Kathryn Handstad of Lakeland, and multiple nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, John Gordon Walden and Jo Floyd Walden, husband, Elie Albert Roberson, brother John Gordon Walden Jr, sister, Mary Alice Hazel, and brother William Thomas Walden.

There will be a graveside service for family and friends at a date to be determined, at Lakeland funeral home and Memorial Gardens.
