Rinaldo M "Reynold" Gallo

Rinaldo M. Gallo "Reynold," formerly of New Providence and Toms River, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2026, at the age of 98.
Reynold was born on December 20, 1927, in Newark, NJ, to Maria (née Alberti) and Fortunato Gallo. He grew up in Summit, NJ, and was a graduate of Summit High School. Following high school, Reynold proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He was honorably discharged in 1947.
A longtime resident of New Providence, NJ, Reynold later moved to Toms River, NJ, and most recently resided in Basking Ridge, NJ. He was the owner and operator of Reynold Gallo Painting Co., where he specialized in residential painting and wallpapering for many years until his retirement. While living in Toms River, he volunteered with the Toms River First Aid Squad.
Reynold enjoyed hunting and fishing and was the former president of his hunting club. He also enjoyed travelling the U.S., playing golf and pool. Above all, he loved to make people smile and was known for his contagious sense of humor, which brought joy to everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Karen Darling, and her husband Michael; his daughter-in-law, Nancy Gallo; his brother, Fred Gallo; and his cherished grandchildren, Kristen Libera and her husband Robert, Ashley Darling, and Nicole Darling. He also leaves behind his beloved great-grandchildren, Samuel and Daniella, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Reynold was predeceased by his beloved wife, Concetta Gallo; his son, Fred Gallo; and four siblings, Victoria Chisholm, Bartolomeo Gallo, Anita Gallo and Eva Masterson.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Thursday, January 8th, from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at Paul Ippolito Berkeley Memorial, 646 Springfield Avenue, Berkeley Heights, NJ. A funeral service will be held during the visitation at 5:30 PM. Interment at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery will take place at a later date.
