Rita Vinod Acharya

Rita Acharya, age 74, of Paramus, formerly of Queens, departed on November 14, 2024. Born in Delhi, India, Rita immigrated to the United States, where she built a life dedicated to science, family, and community service.
Rita's professional journey was marked by her significant contributions at Columbia University's medical school laboratory, where she spent a substantial part of her career conducting lab testing. Her meticulous work and dedication to scientific accuracy were highly valued by her colleagues and contributed to the advancement of medical research.
A resident of Paramus for over 34 years, Rita was an active and devoted member of the Swaminarayan Temple, where her faith and commitment to service flourished. She was known for her gentle spirit, compassion, and the deep care she showed for those around her, earning her a reputation as one of the loveliest individuals in her community.
A Visitation and Funeral Rite will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Rosedale Crematory Chapel, 408 Orange Road, Montclair, N.J. 07042, followed by cremation.
