Rita J. (Sweet) Archambault, 65, of Coventry, RI, passed away unexpectedly at Kent Hospital in Warwick, RI on Sunday, December 15, 2024. She was the beloved wife of Robert C. Angell of Coventry, RI and widow of the late Michael S. Archambault. She was born on October 7, 1959, in Providence, RI to the late William R. and Violet (Gingras) Sweet.
Rita embraced the simple pleasures of life and found joy in her role as a homemaker, dedicating herself wholeheartedly to her family. Being a mother was a role she held dear, but her greatest joy came from being a grandmother. She found immense happiness in creating special moments, often marked by her thoughtful decorations for every season and holiday. Her resourcefulness and attention to detail ensured that everything she did was done with care and precision. Rita also loved tending to her gardens, where she found peace and connection with nature.
A diligent Christian woman, her faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and nurturing her relationships. She was a devout attendee of Christian Hill Church, and former member of Maple Root Baptist where she shared her talents by mentoring the church's teenagers with rehearsing for their plays.
Besides her husband Robert Angell, she is survived by two children: Seth Archambault and his wife Allissa of Exeter, RI and Addie Cummings and her husband Joshua of Kennett Square, PA; six grandchildren: Sophie (Archambault) Freeman and her husband Jamahl, Ethan Archambault, Eliana Archambault, Sadie Cummings, Malin Cummings and Guinevere Cummings; and a brother William R. Sweet. She was the wife of 40 years to the late Michael S. Archambault and sister of the late Bonnie (Sweet) Assalone.
Calling hours will take place at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick, on Friday, December 20 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Family and friends are welcome to go directly to Christian Hill Community Church, 56 Tiogue Avenue, West Warwick on Saturday, December 21 at 10:00 a.m., burial to follow in Greenwood Burial Grounds in Coventry, RI.
