Rita Marie Baker, 80, of Milton, Florida, formerly of Wabash, Indiana, went to be with her Lord and her beloved husband Ted at 10:20 pm, Sunday, August 10, 2025, at Santa Rosa Medical Center in Milton. She was born on December 3, 1944, in Kokomo, Indiana, to Rev. Elmer and Dorothy Jane (Schaeffer) Ingle.
Rita was a 1963 graduate of Kokomo High School. She married Teddy Wilson Baker in Bluffton, Indiana on June 5, 1965, and they celebrated 60 years of marriage this year. Ted preceded Rita in death on June 28, 2025. Rita worked for MJV at Ford Meter Box for 20 years, and also had an in-home daycare for several years. She was an active member of the Colerain Street Community Church. Rita enjoyed her word search books, was an avid Game Show Network watcher, and enjoyed watching and commentating WWE wrestling. She loved being around children and spending time with her family.
She is survived by three daughters, Regina (Greg) Newman of Milton, Julie (Benito) Perez of Wabash, and Cindy (Jorge) Balderas of Andrews, Indiana; six grandchildren, Amy (Darran) Cornett of Milton, Margarita Perez and Jeremiah (Cheyanne) Perez, both of Washington, Joleen Balderas of Andrews, Abbie Cornett of Milton, and Brooklyn Haun of Indianapolis, Indiana; and two sisters, Sandy (Steve) Foster of Bluffton, Indiana and Betty Stirlin of Wabash. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Dicky Lee Ingle.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Rev. Steve Hudson officiating. Burial will be in Laketon Cemetery. Friends may call 12-2 pm Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is Wounded Warrior Project.
