Rita K. Carson, 66, Yorktown, a cancer survivor, passed away from a sudden illness on July 30, 2010. She was born June 4, 1944, in Anderson, the daughter of Leon and Nellie (Brown) Carson. She lived most all of her in Anderson, working at one time for the Worth Corporation in Alexandria and Indiana Mills in Westfield. Rita is survived by three brothers and one sister, Robert L. Carson of Anderson, Gene C. and wife Sharon Carson of Marion, Billy M. Carson of Yorktown and Linda J. Little of Yorktown; eight nieces and nephews, Tamara G. Martz, Kim Funk, Jack W. Carson, Tim L. Carson, David L. Carson, Jessica L. Bachmann, Gabriel S. Carson, Stacey R. Baird and several great nieces and nephews. Also surviving are her special friends, Ann Barber and Betty Leons. She was preceded in death by her parents and one niece, Linda Jean Carson. Service will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home with Rev. J D Traylor officiating. Burial will be at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.brownbutzdiedring.com
