Born and raised in Philadelphia, Rita was a lifelong and devoted member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Broomall. She enjoyed shopping, having her hair styled every week, cooking, and was an avid gardener. Above all else, Rita cherished her family and especially treasured time spent with her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Rita was predeceased by her daughters, Josephine LaPalombara and Diane Siderio, and her siblings, Anna Serra, Grace DelVecchio, Steve Casella, and Frank Casella.

She is survived by her son, Gary (Gail) DeSanto; five grandchildren, Louis (Stephanie) DeSanto, Julia DeSanto, Cristina Siderio, Brendan DeSanto, and Robert Siderio III; three great grandchildren, Louis Warner DeSanto, Carolina DeSanto & Sienna Keim, and her sons-in-law, Robert Siderio Jr. and David LaPalombara.

Family and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Monday, January 12, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 220 Lawrence Road, Broomall, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Sts. Peter and Paul Garden Mausoleum.
