Rita K Fink

Rita Fink, 68, of Wichita, KS passed away at Ascension Via Christi St. Joseph in Wichita, KS after a battle with unforeseen medical issues.
On August 16th, 1957, in a small town of Elkhart, KS, an angel came to earth named Rita Kaye (Goodwin) Fink. She was born to her parents Hubert "Hub" Goodwin and Roberta (Rice) Goodwin. She was born premature, but this did not impact the amount of strength she had or how she persevered through life.
Rita married her husband Robert Charles Fink on July 4th, 1974. They were married for 51 years before she passed. She graduated from Elkhart High school in 1975. Rita and Robert had three children together: Shane A. Fink, Robert Michael Fink, and Brandi R. Fink. She had three grandchildren Olivia Fink-Gallagher, Braylee Fink, and Briella Reynolds. She had one fur baby named Colton Fink. She had three grand fur-babies named Boomer, BluBerry, and Bubbles.
Rita worked as a pharmacy technician for many years and decided to go back to school in her 30's for her nursing degree. She attended Seward County Community College in Liberal, KS and obtained her Registered Nursing Degree. Rita was known for her work at Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center in Wichita, KS. She worked in the ICU and retired from the government as the NOD in 2023. Rita was retired for one year and then decided it was not for her and went to work at Dove Estates Senior Living in Goddard, KS and worked there for a little less than a year.
Rita was a loving wife, extraordinary mother and grandmother, and a phenomenal Registered Nurse. She gave everything in life 120%! She never gave up and fought with all her might, even until her passing on August 16th, 2025. She went home to Heaven on her 68th birthday. If you knew Rita or had ever been in her presence, you were blessed. Heaven is now rejoicing as they have their angel back home. She will forever be missed and will live in our hearts.
Rita is survived by her husband, Robert Fink of Wichita, KS; her mother in-law, Ann Huxman of Newton, KS; her sister, Sharon Jones of Elkhart, KS; her sister-in law, Patricia Davis of Wichita, KS; her son, Shane Fink of Hiawatha, KS; her son, Michael Fink of Wichita, KS; and daughter, Brandi Fink of Manhattan, KS; and her three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hub and Roberta Goodwin; her sister, Linda Eaton; and her father in-law's, Gary Huxman and Bob Fink.
Rita's wishes were to be cremated and to not have a funeral service. The family plans to have a celebration of life for Rita later.
