KINGS MOUNTAIN- With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Rita Causby Gann, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, on November 4, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on October 24, 1944, in Cleveland County, Rita spent her entire life in the community she cherished so dearly.
Rita was a devoted Christian and a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church in Kings Mountain. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, providing her with strength and compassion that she shared generously with everyone she encountered. She had a delightful sense of humor and a witty, sassy spirit that brought joy and laughter to those around her.
Rita retired as a lead person from CVS, where she dedicated many years of her life. She also found great joy in her work as an AVON sales representative, a role she cherished for the connections it allowed her to make within her community. Her passions included everything Elvis—she was an enthusiastic member of the TCB club for Elvis fanatics. Rita also loved taking pictures, scrapbooking, and racing of all kinds, from NASCAR to the thrilling dirt track races at Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, SC.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Nellie Causby, her infant daughter, Melissa Ann Gann, and her brothers, Alvin Causby and Larry Causby. Rita's legacy lives on through her surviving family: her son, Bobby Gann, and his wife Jeana; her step-daughter, Leann Harris, and her husband Dean; her sister, Martha Greene; her grandchildren, Chris Gann and his wife Tina, Ben Gann and his wife Sarah, Kale Hallman and his wife Kelly, Tanner Brown, and Brandon Harris; and her great-grandchildren, Andrew Hallman and his wife Emma, Peyton Hallman, Mason Hallman, Natalie Hallman, William Gann, Selina Gann, Saylor Gann, and Hannah Gann. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who will forever cherish her memory.
Rita's love for her grandchildren was unmatched. She embraced every moment she could spend with them, offering boundless love and wisdom. Her family and friends were her greatest treasure, and they will deeply miss her presence.
A funeral service to celebrate Rita's life will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Faith Baptist Church in Kings Mountain. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Following the service, Rita will be laid to rest at New Camps Creek Baptist Church.
Rita Causby Gann lived a life full of love, laughter, and faith. Her indomitable spirit and caring nature have left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Though she has departed from this world, her legacy of love and laughter will continue to inspire us all.
