Rita K. Hayner ObituaryEAST LIVERPOOL – Rita K. Hayner, 77, of East Liverpool formerly of Glenville, WV, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2025, at her home.
Rita was born in Chapmanville, WV on October 1, 1947, a daughter of the late John L. "Red" and Madeline (Wellman) Sellards. She retired from the WV Department of Health and Human Services in Glenville, WV where she worked in economic services. Rita was a member of Emmanuel Presbyterian Church where she served as an elder. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Preceding Rita in death were her husband John Hayner; sister Joyce Adkins two brothers-in-law Larry Sparks and Franklin "Deadle" Adkins and her favorite furry friend her cat Buddy Oscar.
Left to cherish her memory are two sons Timothy Hayner and Jason Hayner and his wife Jamie; three grandchildren Nicholas, Matthew and Ellie and twin sister Lynda Sparks.
Friends may visit Thursday at the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church where the family will be present from 1 to 3 p.m. Pastor Margie Zellars will conduct a funeral service 3 p.m. Thursday at Emmanuel Presbyterian Church. Private burial at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
Following the service the family will gather at the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church for a time of fellowship.
