Rita M. Manginelli, 86, of Peter Lane, Amsterdam, NY passed away peacefully on Friday, September 19, 2025. Born in Amsterdam, NY on March 7, 1939 she was the daughter of the late Fred and Helen Allen Fraim.

A lifelong city resident, Rita was a graduate of St. Mary's Institute.

On July 10, 1960 she was united in marriage to Arthur R. Manginelli. That union was blessed with four children and 48 years of marriage, until Art's passing on December 18, 2008. She was also predeceased by her sister and brother-in- law, Carol and Paul Sawitzki, as well as her brother Robert Fraim and survived by her sister-in- law Delores Fraim.

Survivors include her four children, Robert Manginelli and his wife Maureen, William Manginelli, Thomas Manginelli and Judi Paquette and her husband William; four grandchildren, Nicholas Manginelli and his wife Amanda, Anthony Manginelli and his wife Nicole, Bernie Manginelli and his partner Johnny Mariani and Benjamin Paquette; two great grandchildren, Hailey Manginelli and Lucas Manginelli; one sister, Mary Ann Marcotte and her husband Norman; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Rita was mostly a homemaker and found joy in cooking for her family and friends especially preparing Lebanese dishes, hamburgers, and her famous meatballs. Rita also worked for many years in the cafeteria at St. Mary's Institute where she often mixed together leftovers into unique dishes which students and teachers fondly remembered and enjoyed. Above all, She will be remembered for her love and devotion to her family, particularly her grandchildren and great - grandchildren, who lovingly called her 'Sito', they will always remember the special bond they shared with her. She also enjoyed an occasional trip to the Casino. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Services are private and at the convenience of the family.

Interment will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice & Palliative Care, 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville, NY 12078.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Rose & Hughes Funeral Home.
