Ramsey Funeral Home & Crematorium - GeorgetownRita Ray, a devoted mother, grandmother, wife, and friend, passed away on February 26, 2026, after a courageous and determined fight. She was a woman of deep kindness, unwavering generosity, and a spirit that left a lasting warmth on everyone she encountered.
Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on April 26, 1945, Rita was the daughter of a Navy serviceman, Quintin, whose career took the family to various naval bases during her early years. After her father’s retirement, the family returned to Tulsa, where Rita spent her formative years.
In high school, Rita performed as a singer in The Mikado, earning her a scholarship to the University of Kansas. Through singing, she found joy in connecting with others. In 1970, while working as a bank teller, Rita met Ron, who lived in the same apartment complex. They married in 1971 and began a life together that would take them from New Orleans to Philadelphia, with Rita building a steady and respected career in banking in each city they called home.
Eventually, they settled in Dallas, Texas, where in 1981, she founded Bankers Temps Unlimited, a business dedicated to providing staffing solutions to community banks across Texas. Her leadership, professionalism, and care for people made the business both successful and impactful in the community.
In 1984, Rita and Ron were blessed with their daughter, Annie, while Rita stayed deeply involved in her church and community, living out her faith through service, connection, and compassion.
In 1990, Ron joined the business, allowing Rita to devote more time to Annie and causes like volunteering with special needs children at Briar Hill, while staying actively involved in charitable work through her church and local community. Rita served in many roles — staff member, parishioner, choir participant — and established the “Circle of Friends” program at her church, creating a welcoming and supportive environment for children with special needs.
Rita enjoyed motorcycle trips with Ron and participating in the Patriot Guard, where they honored soldiers who had lost their lives in service to the country.
Later in life, Rita and Ron relocated to Georgetown, Texas, where they made their home in Sun City, close to Annie and her husband, Neil. Rita thrived in the community, continuing her involvement in Bible study and neighborhood life, building meaningful friendships and staying deeply connected to those around her.
Rita will be remembered as a kind and giving mother and grandmother, someone who offered warmth, love, and support freely and generously. She is survived by her beloved husband Ron, her daughter Annie Ray and her husband Neil, her grandchild Ronnie June, and a wide circle of family and friends.
