Rita Wilson entered eternal rest on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at the age of 78. She was a native of Marrero, LA and a resident of Slidell, LA. Rita was a graduate of Lincoln High School. She was a retired bus driver with Jefferson Parish School System. Beloved mother of Rhonda Smith, Alisha Smith (Samuel) Covington, and Juanika Brooks (Jermaine) Walker. Daughter of the late Albert Smith, Sr. and Juanita Smith. Sister of Elaine Brignac, Rocky (Ramona) Smith, Eric Smith, Alex Smith, Sr., Albert (Connie) Smith, Jr., the late Alvis Smith, Walter Smith, and Reginald Smith, survived by 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Rock of Ages Baptist Church, Holy Ground Sanctuary International Ministries, and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Rock of Ages Baptist Church 6533 Acre Rd. Marrero, LA on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the above-named parlor. Interment: Woodlawn Park Memorial Cemetery-Westwego, LA.
