Rita Ann Stevens

Rita Ann Stevens passed away on October 14, 2025, at the age of 91 years. Rita was born on April 14, 1934, to Jacob and Anna Marie Stevens in Milwaukee, WI. Rita is survived by two of her children John (Jodi) Fleckenstein and Carolyn (Jay) Scott, as well as son-in-law Cork Eringaard, eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. . She was preceded in death by three of her children Mark, Paul and Sue, her sister Jackie and brother-in-law George Hovorka.

Rita was a graduate of Messmer High School and for many years assisted in the reunions of the Class of 1952. Upon graduation Rita attended Mount Mary University and while her youngest children were in high school she returned to Mount Mary and completed her degree in History. She was an active volunteer tutor for over twenty years at Literacy Services of Wisconsin when it was on Wisconsin Ave and known as the Laubach Center. Rita supported numerous nonprofits through the RA Stevens Foundation in the areas of literacy, education, helping families affected by domestic violence and supporting organizations that had a positive impact on the quality of life in Milwaukee and Waukesha counties.

Visitation will be held Friday, October 24, 2025, at San Camillo Chapel, 10200 W. Bluemound Rd. Wauwatosa, beginning at 1 p.m. just before the funeral Mass at 2:30 p.m. Following the service, family and friends are invited to gather for fellowship in the O'Donnell Room at St. Camillus. A private burial will take place Saturday morning, October 25, at Holy Cross Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Literacy Services of Wisconsin, 1737 N Palmer St. Milwaukee, WI 53212.
