Rita Louise Welsh of Sugar Land, Texas passed away on December 4,

2025, at the age of 95. She was born on January 3, 1930, in Chicago, IL to

Fred and Anna Mosier. She married Joseph D. Welsh on May 15, 1954, in

Chicago and they enjoyed 63 years together. In the early years of their

marriage, they lived in Chicago, then moved to Tulsa, OK in 1962, then

moved to Houston in 1966. Rita was a registered nurse who enjoyed taking

care of newborns at Memorial (Hermann) Southwest Hospital.

Rita was a long-time parishioner of St. Francis de Sales, then St. Theresa's

Catholic Church in Sugar Land. She was also a proud member of the

Catholic Daughters of Americas-Court St. Theresa of Lisieux, 2211.

She was an excellent artist that included painting on canvas, candles,

clothing, crafts, and Christmas ornaments. Rita loved sewing and quilting.

She is survived by daughter Susan Brown, son David and his wife Barbie

Welsh, daughter Ann Moles, son Jim and his wife Terry Jo Welsh, son Joe

and his wife Mikki Bachman. Nine grandchildren and numerous great

grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph, son Michael and his wife

Stella Welsh, son-in-law Terry Moles, and daughter-in-law Staci Welsh.

Funeral details will be shared at a later time.

We would like to extend our appreciation to the staff at Auberge Sugar

Land Memory Care and Lotus Hospice for the care and support given to

Rita and the family.

Donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Foundation of

America or to St. Theresa's Catholic Church.
