Robbie Joe Hubbard, 59, of Rockingham, NC, passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at Duke University Medical Center, Durham.
He was born June 30, 1966, Madrid, Spain, son of the late John Kelly Hubbard and Jacqueline Bates Hubbard.
Mr. Hubbard was a proud 8 year veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He served our country in combat on the frontline during Desert Storm. During his military career, he earned the rank of Sergeant. He was also awarded several badges and medals including Rifle Expert Marksmanship Badge, National Defense Service Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, as well as Good Conduct medal.
Mr. Hubbard was a well-educated man, earning his Master’s in Business Administration from Milligan University. He worked for more than 27 years with AFG Industries in Kingsport, TN, prior to his employment with Pilkington Glass in Laurinburg, NC since 2008. He was a dedicated worker and provider for his family.
Mr. Hubbard enjoyed attending Mt. Carmel Free Will Baptist Church in Rockingham. He loved to hunt and fish, archery, and anything outdoors. The greatest joy in his life was his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
Along with his parents, Mr. Hubbard was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Calvin Craig Way and grandson, Killian Jude Reed-Way.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Jeanne Way Hubbard of the home; daughter, Jessilyn Nichole Hubbard of Rockingham; grandchildren, Coy Alexander Reed-Way and Cainan Craig Reed-Way; sister, Vicki Kay Hubbard of Kingsport; brothers, Gary Michael Hubbard (Rebecca) of Richmond, Kentucky and Brad Hubbard (Karen) of Palm Coast, Florida; and his life-long friend, Todd Bailey.
The family will receive friends from 11:45am to 12:45pm Tuesday, November 4th, 2025 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Blountville, TN. A graveside service will follow at 1pm in the Garden of Avenue Of Flags. Military honors will be presented by the VFW Post #9754.
A visitation and service will be conducted Sunday at Mt. Carmel Free Will Baptist Church 573 Battley Dairy Rd. Rockingham, NC under the care of Harrington Funeral Service in Hamlet, NC.
